Alaska is a beautiful state in America and a tourist destination where people come from all over the world, so it is difficult to decide which is the best month to visit Alaska.

However, if you want to visit Alaska, the best time is summer, because during this time many hotels and railroads are open and prices are lower than in earlier weeks. Furthermore, you’ll have a fantastic Alaskan experience, as if your favorite season is summer. Because the days are long and the weather is warm. You can get a chance to view wildlife, beautiful colorful trees and blooming flowers, and different types of whales and sharks jumping in the water.

Moreover, there is something special about Alaska: it’s daylight. If you’re visiting Alaska in June, you can witness June 21, which is the summer solstice and longest day of the year in Alaska. Fairbanks celebrates the midnight sun festival on July 22. Tourists from all over the world come to see this.

Despite the high mosquito population and the rainy, shorter days of August, you can still anticipate 14 or 17 hours of daylight. In September, I had already discussed the cool weather due to the arrival of spring, which causes the tundra and trees to turn a variety of colors, including red, yellow, and orange. In shoulder season, there are discounts on hotels, cruises, and tours. The best time to see the northern lights, or aurora borealis, is during winter, from August 20 to April 20.

October is not a good month to visit Alaska, as it is too cold and has shorter days. Additionally, there is a possibility of snowfall in the mountains during this month. November is ideal only if you want to visit Alaska to see the northern lights, but on the other hand, days are so dark because of the cold in this month. 

December is ideal for sports activities because it’s the holiday season, and cities are decorated with lights, but still, darkness increases because of snow, but it’s an amazing month to see northern lights. Despite of the increment in darkness due to snowfall, it’s an amazing month to witness the northern lights.

In the last two months of January and February, days started growing from 8 to 12 hours, but still, it’s too cold.  Dog races take place in March, and when the snow melts and whales migrate in April. Hence, whichever season you select, one must consider all the aforementioned factors and precautions to take, while going to Alaska.
